RAI Secretariat takes part in the Joint Conference of Court Presidents and Chief Prosecutors in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat, represented by Head of Secretariat, Mr. Vladan Joksimovic and Anti-corruption Expert, Mr Tomislav Curic, took an active part in the Joint Conference organized on the 22nd May 2017 by the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (VSTV BiH).

The focus of the conference were the analysis reports on the work of judicial institutions, including issues of efficiency, quality of work and responsibility of the judicial function, especially in the area of ​​(non)prosecuting corruption offenses, as well as plans and measures for improvements in the judiciary.

Conference participants were welcomed by the President of VSTV BiH, Milan Tegeltija, who had stated that the judiciary in BiH is exposed to numerous challenges, highlighting corruption as a key problem faced by the judiciary.

Mr. Joksimovic presented RAI and its activities with the focus on implementation of guidelines for the development and implementation of Integrity plans in the judicial institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The conference was attended by the presidents of courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina on all levels – state, entity, cantonal, district, municipal and basic level as well as by the chief prosecutors and members of the VSTV BiH, attended by representatives of ministries of justice, trade associations and the international community in BiH.
