RAI and Montenegro Sign The Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation on Enhancement of Whistleblowing Policies

Wednesday, December 2, 2020 – The RAI Secretariat, the Agency for Prevention of Corruption and the Health Clinical Center of Montenegro signed the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation (MoU) on the improvement of whistleblower policies and culture in the Montenegrin public sector, through activities provided under the EU funded project  ‘Breaking the Silence: Enhancing whistleblowing policies and culture in Western Balkans and Moldova’ (hereinafter: the Project) implemented by RAI Secretariat.

The MoU signing event was witnessed by the Director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption, Ms. Jelena Perovic and Director of the Health Clinical Center of Montenegro, Ms. Daniela Raonić in Podogorica, Montenegro and Mr. Vladan Joksimovic, the Head of RAI Secretariat, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The three organizations joined forces in improving the enforcement of whistleblowing in Montenegro, in line with the 2019 EU Directive on the protection of persons who report breaches of [European] Union law (EU whistleblowing rules).

RAI Secretariat signed the MoU also with public institutions relevant to the enforcement of whistleblowing in North Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and will pursue the signing of MoU in the remaining beneficiary jurisdictions of its EU funded whistleblowing project.
