RAI Secretariat presents the findings of the Regional Asset Recovery Study at the joint FATF/OSCE/Moneyval Workshop for Judges and Prosecutors in Strasbourg

Today and tomorrow  FATF, OSCE and Moneyval are holding a  International Workshop for Judges and Prosecutors: Experiences, Challenges and Best Practices,at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg,France.

RAI Secretariat represented by Head of Office Mr. Vladan Joksimovic presented the findings, challenges and good practices of the comparative study concerning the search, seizure, and confiscation of illegally obtained assets in South-Eastern Europe and additional European countries, conducted by the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) with the support of the OSCE and the AIRE Centre. The Study will be formally presented to at the Regional Conference on Strengthening Cooperation in the Field of Asset Recovery in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina on 28 March 2018.

This joint FATF-OSCE-MONEYVAL workshop is the latest in a series of workshops initiated by the FATF already organized in the Americas, Asia, Pacific and Africa/Middle East. The FATF Secretariat will organize a final workshop later this year to discuss findings and analysis from all the regional ones and draft a report on challenges and good practices in seizing and confiscating criminal proceeds and instrumentalities, as well as in investigating and prosecuting of terrorist financing and money laundering cases.
