Delegation of the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat, composed of Mr. Vladan Joksimovic – Head of RAI Secretariat and Ms. Desislava Gotskova – Project Manager of the Regional Anti-Corruption Project met with Mr. Sotir Tsatsarov – Head of the Bulgarian Commission for Anti-corruption and Illegal Assets Forfeiture (CAIAF) and Ms, Sylvia Kadreva – Member of CAIAF in Sofia, on January 30, 2020.

Topics discussed at this meeting included the ongoing joint activities and further avenues for cooperation between RAI and CAIAF, with the special focus on the International Treaty on Exchange of Data for the Verification of Asset Declarations. The purpose of this International Treaty is to prevent and to combat corruption by providing for direct administrative exchange of information on asset declarations between the Parties of the Treaty. The Treaty will enable anti-corruption bodies to communicate formally with each other regarding data on foreign assets and interests, and thus significantly enhance verification of declarations. Signing of the Treaty will take place in Vienna, on March 24, 2020.
