International workshop ‘Integrity concepts: Approaches and new frontiers’ – July 05-06, 2012 – Bitola, Macedonia

The Macedonian State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC), with the support and assistance of the Regional Anticorruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat for South-Eastern Europe, Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and UNDP, organized the international workshop on “Integrity Concepts: Approaches and New Frontiers” on July 5-6, 2012, in Bitola, Macedonia, in the framework of Integrity Experts network (IEN).

The event was part of the the project “Strengthening the Integrity System in South-Eastern Europe“.

The overall objective of the workshop was to enhance the cooperation between the IEN member institutions through the exchange of information, experience and knowledge on integrity issues. The specific objective of the event was to present and discuss on the legal framework on integrity: existence, format, application in practice, best practices and challenges. Among the main topics included were: integrity systems, anti-corruption strategies, whistleblowing, balance between transparency and personal data protection.

At the end of the workshop the participants discussed the handing over of the Chairmanship-in-Office of IEN. In the days following the event the National Integrity Agency (ANI) of Romania expressed its interest and took the Chairmanship-in-Office of the Network for the next one year.
