25-29 September 2017, Sarajevo, B&H: UNODC Multi-stakeholder Workshop on Strengthening Civil Society Capacity on the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and its Review Mechanism

Southeast Europe Regional Programme on Strengthening the Capacity of Anti-corruption Authorities and Civil Society to Combat Corruption and Contribute to the UNCAC Review Process (Programme) aims at building and strengthening the capacity of governments and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) from SEE to prevent and fight corruption. To achieve its objective, the Programme has six outcomes distributed  between RAI and UNODC and their respective expertise. Regional Programme is funded by Austrian Development Agency ADA.

The Programme targets Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Moldova, Montenegro, Republic of Macedonia, Serbia, which have been identified as priority countries in the Southeast European region.

Programme activates implemented by UNODC are focused on Civil Society. These are:  training sessions on the UNCAC and its review mechanism, the facilitation of multi-stakeholder consultations, the provision of advocacy materials and the creation of a virtual regional knowledge management hub.

The application process for the next multi-stakeholder workshop to strengthen civil society capacity on the United Nations Convention against Corruption(UNCAC) and its review mechanism is now open!

Civil society, Government and private sector representatives will take part in the Workshop which will take place from 25-29 September 2017, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

The overall objective is to equip participants with the substantive expertise in UNCAC provisions, inform them about the methodology for country reviews, build capacity to work with the private sector, to reproduce the training at local, national and regional level, and to initiate dialogue with government focal point.
