The Albanian High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets (HIDDA), the Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat and the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretariat co-organized the workshop on “Conflict of Interest Detection, Management and Resolution Experiences”, with the financial support of US State Department. The event took place on April 19-20, 2011, in Tirana, Albania, as part of the the project “Strengthening the Integrity System in South-Eastern Europe”.

Apart from detection, management and resolution of conflict of interest cases, the representatives of SEE integrity institutions – members of Integrity Experts Network (IEN), as well as the participating experts from other Europen partner institutions, also discussed issues related to domestic cooperation and support provided by other public institutions aiming at data verification, checking and collection. A representative group of integrity experts has been welcomed at a reception by H. E. Prof. Dr. Bamir Topi – President of the Republic of Albania.

During the workshop was presented the newly established forum, integral part of IEN web site (www.integrity-experts.net), launched by RAI Secretariat. The second day of the event was dedicated to the ”Open Day” activity, organized each year by HIDAA. The activity represents transparent and random selection of 4% of all level public officials in Albania, who will pass through a full audit of their declarations of private interests.
