Competencies: to control and follow the implementation of the AC Strategy

Level of Independence

– Permanence: Decision of the Croatian Parliament (Class: 215-01/06-01/06), as of July 13, 2006 –  Decision on the National Council for Monitoring the Implementation of the National Anti-corruption Programme

– Appointment: National Council is a supervisory body of the Croatian Parliament.

– Removal: The term of office of members of the National Council lasts until the term of office of the current composition of the Croatian Parliament expires.

– Financial Autonomy: The Croatian Parliament provides premises, necessary funds, and expert staff for the  efficient work of the National Council.

Competencies:  The role of the Committee is monitoring the implementation of the national strategic documents related to the fight against corruption.

Level of Independence

– Permanence: Decision of the Croatian Government (Official Gazette 90/12), as of August 2, 2012

– Appointment: President of the committee is the Minister of Justice, other appointed members are: Minister of Interior, Minister of Science, Education and Sports, Minister of Business and Trade, Minister of Health, Minister of Finance, Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure, Minister of Construction and Physical Planning,  Minister of Administration, Deputy Minister of Economy, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia, State Attorney General of the Republic of Croatia, the Auditor General, the President of the State Commission for Supervision of Public Procurement, Director of the Office for Combating corruption and Organized Crime, and the Director of the Office for Associations.

Structure: encompasses five members, one of whom heads the commission as President and another as Vice President; the Commission has a department responsible for all administrative and technical aspects (Ured Povjerenstva)

Competencies: to initiate proceedings as to whether conflicts of interest exists and to decide whether a particular act or omission of officials is a violation of the provisions of the laws regarding conflict of interest

– Permanence: established by Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest (Official gazette 26/11 from February 2011)

– Appointment: president is elected from within Commission by Commission members

– Removal: not in Law est. Commission

– Immunity: Yes

– Financial Autonomy: budget adopted in standard procedure
