July 2, 2020 – GJIN Webinar “Financial Disclosure Systems for Judges”

Global Judicial Integrity Network organizes a Webinar on the topic of “Financial Disclosure Systems for Judges(2 July, 15h-16h CEST). The webinar will provide a unique opportunity to promote the debate, exchange experiences and good practices and learn from jurisdictions that have already introduced financial disclosure systems for their judges and addressed various judicial integrity considerations related to the topic.

In the framework of the established cooperation between the RAI and the UNODC Global Judicial Integrity Network, Ms. Aneta Arnaudovska, Senior Anti-Corruption Advisor at the RAI Secretariat, a former judge, will participate as a panelist at the webinar with a presentation of the International Treaty on Exchange of Data for Verification of Asset Declarations and its importance as a mechanism for financial reporting by judges.

The other panelists will be the Chief Justice Duro Sessa, Croatia, and Justice Madan Lokur, Judge of the Supreme Court of Fiji, a former judge of the Supreme Court of India.

Registration procedure: No advance registration is necessary to attend the webinar. Participants who wish to attend should only click in the respective link at the time and day indicated for the webinar. The participation will be limited to 250 participants and accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Tips to participate in the webinar: Guide for Users of the Global Judicial Integrity Network Webinar Series which includes the rules that should be followed by the participants during the webinar, as well as technical guidance to access the platform.

We strongly encourage participants to test the access to the platform in advance and to join the platform 10 minutes before the beginning of the webinar.

Participants who wish to participate in the seminar will only need a Wi-Fi network and an audio system on their computers. We kindly ask participants to mute their microphones and turn off their cameras during the webinar. The system will enable a chat service through which participants can ask questions to the lecturer. The webinar will be in English only.
