Another step to transparency: The names of companies owners from Moldova are now public

After the Economic Council of the Prime-Minister of Moldova demanded this measure three times in the last half a year, the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications published the list with the names of the owners and founders of about 200 000 Moldovan enterprises. Now, this kind is information is public and free.

According to the Economic Council of the PM, publishing this list is a efficient anti-corruption measure, important for ensuring a transparent and secure business atmosphere. Thus, the influence from the system and the corruption will be limited. The information will increase the confidence between the entrepreneurs. Beside the entrepreneurs, the customers, the civil society and the mass-media will have free access to this information.

The decision was made under fair pressure of the Government, the businesses, the civil society, the journalists and the international partners like the European Union.
