20th RAI Steering Group Meeting – May 20, 2015 – Zagreb, Croatia

The 20th RAI Steering Group (SG) Meeting organized by Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat took place in Zagreb, Croatia, on May 20, 2015. The main decisions of the Steering Group were the adoption of Regional Program – Building Capacities of Anti Corruption Entities in South East Europe and strengthening their Cooperation, acceptance of the Central Anti-corruption Bureau of Poland as an observer to RAI, decision to open the position of Anti-corruption Expert in the Secretariat as of September 2, 2015, agreement on submission of the National progress reports for 2014 – 2015, and note on the RAI Secretariat Financial Report for 2014.

 Among other issues discussed by the Senior Representatives was the proposal and agreement to organize a conference in autumn 2015 on the occasion of 15th anniversary of Regional Anti-corruption Initiative.

During the meeting Ms. Dalija Oreskovic President of the Commission for the Resolution of Conflict of Interest, Croatia), elaborated on the current work of the Commission, with emphasis on importance of the independence of oversight bodies and enhancing regional cooperation in asset disclosure and conflict of interest.

Minister Pawel Wojtunik, Head of the Central Anti-corruption Bureau (CAB), Poland, accompanied by Mr.Krzysztof Krak, Chief of Cabinet of CAB, gave a short presentation of organization, work and achievements of the Bureau. Recalling the formal request of the Bureau for participating in RAI in the capacity of an Observer, all SG Representatives acknowledged their consent and granted the Central Anti-corruption Bureau of Poland an Observer to RAI.
