Romania: Judicial Inspectorate extends control of Anti-Corruption Directorate until August 25

The Judicial Inspectorate (IJ) has decided to extend its ongoing control of the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) until August 25, as the activity estimated by the inspectors exceeds the real one, IJ Spokesman Alin Alexandru told AGERPRES on Tuesday.

“The ongoing control at DNA has been extended under an order from the chief inspector, until August 25, because the activity estimated by the inspectors exceeds the real one, and the time initially set for the control is insufficient,” said Alexandru.

He added that the report to be drawn up after the control will be forwarded to the Prosecution Section of the Supreme Council of Magistrates (CSM) no later than October 6, after being drafted and subsequently submitted for endorsement to the IJ leadership, August 25 – September 15.
